There are two ways to electronically measure your runs: shoe pods or GPS receivers. Both have their limitations--shoe pods need to be calibrated for optimal accuracy and GPS requires a clear line of sight to three or more satellites. But in the right device, these technologies make great workout partners, recording every mile and heartbeat to help you train smarter.
