This is a family-friendly event, with a 10K followed by a family fun run. Families are encouraged to make a full day of this event, with a parade down Main Street later in the morning, L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery School activities in the afternoon, and a concert in the evening, followed by fireworks. All proceeds from this event go to support the Cumberland County YMCA's scholarship program, ensuring that no one will ever be turned away from the YMCA because of inability to pay. With the support of New Balance as an event sponsor, the first 500 runners to register before May 15th (9 AM Pacific Time / 12 PM Eastern Standard Time) will receive a free pair of New Balance premium 1062 neutral-cushioning training shoes.
