Cushioning:
Flexibility:
Responsiveness:
The latest Glycerin is softer. First, there is a larger cutaway section of outsole under the heel for the foot to sink into just after impact. Also, Brooks added softer foam to the midsole directly under the heel. The improved cushioning was confirmed by RW Shoe Lab tests. Another cool feature is the forefoot, which is curved slightly upward for a smoother toe-off. Recommended for runners with higher arches who want a soft, stable, neutral shoe.
"This shoe had excellent cushioning but was rather heavy." --Michael L. Derstine, 46, Allentown
"The shoe was extremely comfortable." --Dominic DeFlorrio, 21, East Lansing
"The shoe is stable with good flexibility, but I could of used it to be more narrow." --Any Snyder, 48, East Lansing
"I like a shoe with more arch support so I had to change out the insoles in these shoes to get the support I needed. --Karen Baily, 34, Allentown
"This shoe was durable in all types of weather." --John Fryzol
"I was hoping the shoe could have been a bit lighter." --H. Bruce Hagan, 47, East Lansing

Went from Adistar 5 to this shoe. I am a 200 lb 20 to 25 mile/week runner. I was recommended this shoe due to my build. The first thing you notice on this shoe is the width, it is much wider then most running shoes with this much cushion. This results in much better stability as my Adistars were quite narrow. So far I have approx, 2 months of wear on them and they are still comfortable enough for 10 mile Sat morning runs. The Adistars were lighter but it is hardly noticeable. What is noticeable is the quality construction, these shoes are built to take a pounding and last. I have run in all kinds of weather with these and they are still in very good condition. I would recommend these to a medium to larger body type who prefers long distance training runs. .
