We Say: Pearl has come a long way since introducing its first running shoe in 2003. The company's seamless upper technology has always offered a comfortable fit; the problem had been the unresponsive midsole. Not anymore. The heel features EVA foam and Pearl Izumi's Syncro-Frame Guidance System, which helps distribute impact force, as well as enhance heel durability and stability. Pearl also added softer foam to the forefoot for improved heel-to-toe transition. Recommended for runners looking for a lightweight shoe for training or racing.
Wear-Testers Say: "The shoe lacked forefoot cushioning, which felt jarring on pavement." -Lianne Gurfield, 34, San Diego
"The cushioning and responsiveness of this shoe were very good, and I liked the seamless upper." -Mike King, 54, East Lansing

I have two pair of the Pearl Izumi float. I have run one marathon and training over the past 9 months in the shoes. Interestingly, for both pair, the left shoe squeaky most annoyingly. I have retired both pair because of this squeak. It is far too annoying.
I have recenly bought two pair of the Aisics Cumulous. Terrific shoe. Too bad about the squeak.
I wonder if this is a common problem
I have been running for 5 years, 4 marathons and this is the first I have had this happen..
